1st Race Results: - February 7, 2012

We had a great showing on February 7, 2012. 14 racers made it out in the dead of winter to race here at Marshall Field Raceway. The power was set to around 10 volts, the new breed of cars were all tuned and checked by Monte The Big Smooth, so the racing began. All racers were lumped together into one big group. The results will be a split between the top 7 racers and the bottom 7 racers who will be competing in the B Mains. In the first race the time was a little longer so this race will combine the 2 heats together. All future race nights I will take the best race of the night for placement.

There was a new person out named Michael and this was his first day on the track. He raced in the first race 67 laps for 14th place. In the 2nd race he managed a .7 lap increase. He had a total of 134.7 laps

Ageless Art has returned for another season and he is doing quite fine. He managed 79.4 laps in the first race and 76.8 laps in the 2nd race for a total of 156.2 laps.

Racin' Randy had some car trouble in the first race and ended up with 70 laps but managed 89.2 laps in the 2nd race. His total was 159.2 laps for the night.

Hot Rod Heidi also was a new racer for the season and started out in the first race with 76.9 laps but improved greatly in the 2nd race with 83.4 laps for a total of 160.3 laps.

Basher Byron has returned to slot car racing here at Marshall Field Raceway and in the first race had 78.5 laps but improved to 88 laps in the 2nd race for a total of 166.5 laps.

Kool Kevin was very cool tonight. In the first race he hit 81.8 laps and in the 2nd race he ended up with 79.6 laps for a total of 161.4 laps.

Golden Gordon best his son in law with a 83.2 laps in the first race and 82 in the 2nd race for a total of 165.2 laps.

Fearless Frank always brings out his great attitude, which consists of waiting around to race someone, and had 85 laps in the 1st race and 82.6 laps in the 2nd for 167.6 laps.

Greg the Master Builder showed his skills with a 85 lap total in the first and 87.7 laps in the 2nd race for a total of 172.7 total laps for the night.

Monte the Big Smooth came out strong in the first race with 86.6 laps but stronger in the 2nd with 89.4 laps for a total of 176 laps.

Dangerous Drew is becoming way too dangerous and screamed to 86.7 laps in the first and 93.9 laps in the 2nd for a total of 180.6 laps.

A new racer to Marshall Field Raceway but not a new racer to slot cars is Stupendious Steve. He flew around the track with 90.5 laps in the first and 92.6 laps in the 2nd race for a total of 183.1 laps.

Rockin' Rico has gotten his car dialed in and screamed out 93.2 laps in the first race with 91.8 laps in the 2nd race for a total of 185 laps.

And finally Awesome Andre is going to be the man to beat this season. His 96.9 laps in the first race and 98.3 laps in the 2nd race for a total of 195.2 laps was well...AWESOME.

2nd Race Results: February 21, 2012

Away we go with another great night of racing. 17 racers came out tonight and the competition was fun and fierce, just the way we like it. The timing between the 2 racers was the same so we will now break the results in the best of either race. And even though we race in A and B mains, the whole group will be scored together. See the "pits" section for a deeper explanation.

Monte the Big Smooth had some car problems and then had an emergency at home so he couldn't make the 2nd race. His best total was 92.6 laps.

Brooke Babe made her debut race here at Marshall Field Raceway. Her 2nd race was her best with 102.6 laps.

Kool Kevin also had a better 2nd race than his first. He improved by 1.5 more laps for a total of 106.1 laps.

Hot Hugh cooled off a little from last season. But he did just get his car and it wasn't tuned very well. He improved by 6 laps in the 2nd race for a total of 108 laps.

Ageless Art came out flying in the 2nd race with a .2 tenths better than Hot Hugh. He ended up with 108.2 laps.

Stupendious Steve cooled off a little from the 1st round 2 weeks ago but did kick it up in the 2nd race with 109.5 laps.

Dangerous Drew also cooled off from the 1st round and cooled off a little in the 2nd race tonight too. His best showing was in the 1st race with 110.4 laps.

Basher Byron didn't make the first race but did manage a good score in the 2nd race with 110.6 laps.

Fearless Frank had one less crash than Byron and Drew and that was good enough to best them in the 2nd race with 110.7 laps.

Hot Rod Heidi did a great job tonight and her 2nd race was her best. She ended up with 110.9 laps.

Racin' Randy got his car working good in the 2nd race and ended up with 115.2 laps.

Big Trouble Tracy came out fresh and flying in the first race and then cooled it in the 2nd race. His best race was the first with 117.2 laps.

Golden Gordon is running with the big guys now, baby. His first race was truly golden as he hit 117.8 laps.

Rockin' Rico was good all night but his 2nd race was the best. He hit 119.0 laps.

Lightnin' Lee is back. After a 2 or 3 year hiatus he proved he had not lost the touch. And with an Andre car setup, he smoked in the first round with 120.6 laps.

Greg the Master Builder proved he can build a car. Having a great night all night his 2nd race was the killer with 120.7 laps.

And smoking the field for the 2nd straight round of racing was Awesome Andre. He managed 123.6 laps in the 2nd race.

3rd Race Results: March 6, 2012

The third race of the season and things are starting to shape up. 16 racers made it out so away we go. The field is shaping up to A and B main rounds, so I'll discuss them with that in mind.

In the B Mains

Mighty Mike is relatively new here so he is learning the track and the cars. He ended up with 97.7 laps in the 2nd round, which was 20 laps better than his first round. He earned 8th place for 12 race points.

Hot Rod Heidi is also new this season and seems to be having a lot of fun. It sure is fun having her here. She did best in the first round with 101.2 laps for 7th place and 13 race points.

I see a rivalry going on here between Heidi and Brooke Babe. But this week she bested Heidi with a 103.3 laps in the 2nd round. She earned 6th place and 14 race points.

Red Hot Ricky, also a newbie, did really well in the 2nd round. His improvement of 10 laps pushed him up into 5th place with 104.3 laps and 15 race points.

Kool Kevin proves he is tough to beat. He improved by 10 laps also in the 2nd round to end up with 106.3 laps and 4th place with 16 race points.

Who is this masked man? The oldest racer in age and exposure to Marshall Field, Ageless Art made the podium with a screaming 108 laps to take 3rd place and 17 race points.

Golden Gordon is always on his B game and tonight was no different. He did his best in the first round with a 110.5 laps for 2nd place and 18 race points.

And topping off the field just barely beating out Gordon was Fearless Frank with a smoking 110.7 laps and earning the full 20 race points. Congratulations Frank.

In the A Mains:

Basher Byron had a DQ in the 2nd round but still managed to best his first round totals. His 114.3 laps earned him 8th place and 12 race points.

There was a tie for 7th place so we will just skip to 6th place. These two racers had their best rounds in different rounds but ended up with the same scores. Greg, the Master Builder, and Racin' Randy both ended up with 115.5 laps for 6th place and 14 race points.

Nosing out those two guys by 1 lap was Dangerous Drew. His 2nd round was the best and ended up with 116.6 laps for 5th place and 15 race points.

Monte the Big Smooth, had a better night than before but still has not hit his stride. Keep an eye on this guy. His 2nd round netted him 119.3 laps for 4th place and 16 race points.

Lightin' Lee bumps the totals up by about 2 laps to end up with 121.3 laps in the 2nd round. This puts him on the podium for a 3rd place finish and 17 race points.

Stupendous Steve did a hell of a race. He led the first round but got beaten in the 2nd round and raced to 121.9 laps for 18 race points in 2nd position.

And topping the charts, again, was Awesome Andre. He burned up the trace and beat his nearest competitor by 3 laps to end up with 124.9 total laps and the full 20 race points. Congrats Andre.

4th Race Results: March 20, 2012

Ahh another 2 weeks another race. Just like clockwork. We had 14 racers out tonight. Can anyone beat Andre? Will Halle Berry show up. Probably not on both accounts. So let's get to the results and quit dreaming. There was some so-called B Main racers who actually beat some so called A main racers, so this report will reflect the new positions.

In the B Mains:

Running just one round and thus putting all her race tires in one rack was Sweet Victoria. She raced to 96.3 laps for 7th place and 13 race points.

Brooke Babe had a finely tuned car by Rockin' Rico but the field is getting tougher. Her best round was in the 2nd round with 102.4 laps and she placed 6th for 14 race points.

Just Bryan (for now) was new to the track but not so new to racing. He was seen doing some great racing. He ended up in 5th place with 105.3 laps for 15 race points.

Ageless Art slipped a little this week but not by much. He is becoming a very hot racer, so put your Vegas money on him. He did his best in the 1st round with 108.4 laps for 4th place and 16 race points.

Stupendous Steve got bumped into the B mains tonight. He car was not dialed in so a little work will help. He end up in 3rd place in the B Mains with 108.7 laps and 17 race points.

Hot Rod Heidi was Red Hot. She came out of nowhere to almost take the checkered flag. Her 110.3 laps was awesome. She ended up in 2nd place with 18 race points.

And topping the race leader board was Golden Gordon. Showing his true form again and he was the man to beat. He had 112.9 laps for top dog position and 20 race points. Congrats Gordon.

In the A Mains:

Fearless Frank moved back into the A Mains and did an excellent job. His 118.3 laps crushed the B Main winner and placed him 6th for 14 race points.

Rockin' Rico slipped a bit this race. He was consistent but maybe the car isn't dialed in quite right yet. He ended up with 120.6 laps and 5th place for 15 race points.

Racin' Randy is moving up slowly but seems to have maxed out his car. He ended up with 123.4 laps for 4th place and 16 race points.

Lightin' Lee edged out Randy by less than a lap to take the podium spot of 3rd place. He ended up with 124.3 laps and 17 race points.

Yes there is a race God. Awesome Andre was awesome as usual and blasted into 126.9 laps. But the writing was on the wall and he would be denied the top position. His 2nd place earned him 18 race points.

And back on top of the charts after a long spell was Monte, the Big Smooth. He was flying, smoking, hauling, you name it, he did it. His 128.4 laps earned him the full 20 race points. Congrats Monte.
